Description of Project :

8" POLYBUTENE OIL FREEZE SEAL

California Department of Water Resources contracted our service department to assist them with the repair of (3) Leaking Electrical Transformer Potheads. The project was located at the Edward Hyatt Hydro Power Plant more than 200 feet under Lake Orville. Our critical part of the project involved producing a dependable and safe single freeze plug stop on a 8.0" (3) 230KV SS Cable Pipe full of Polybutene Electrical Oil .
 

12" CONDENSER WATER FREEZE SEAL

Due to the malfunction of supply side block valve this project required our service department to freeze plug a 12" condenser water pipe immediately off the outlet side of the #3 pump. The client, a major resort hotel needed our CRYO-LATOR™ Freeze Plug Procedure to hold back approximately 300 lbs of head pressure in an elevated run of 50 stories while the pump was rebuilt in place.

12" DUCTILE WATER MAIN FREEZE SEAL

CRYOSTOP Pipe Freezing was recently called on to provide a critical freeze plug isolation for the city of Bellevue, Washington.  The project required CRYOSTOP to provide a freeze plug isolation on an underground 12" ductile iron water main. The System was operating 80 PSI / 42°F.

DOUBLE 24" SIMULTANEOUS FREEZE SEALS

This project was performed in the summer months at a major Medical Center in the Washington, DC and involved the simultaneous freeze seals of (2) 24” Supply & Return Chill Water Pipes. The contractor needed to change out both the old Supply & Return Block Valves. The freeze seal project went perfect with no problems.

(8) 8.0" CONDENSER WATER FREEZE SEALS

CRYOSTOP International Pipe Freeze Services was contracted to perform (8) individual critical freeze plugs at the main Bellevue, WA Boeing Computer Center. The project involved changing out, without shutting down (8) 8" cooling water risers/block valves to the condenser cooling towers. The project was extremely critical and the non-interruptive operation of the Boeing Worldwide Computer System was dependant on this cooling system.

8.0" Close Mechanical Pipe Plug

This project involved our Mechanical Line Plugging System. Our customer called on CRYOSTOP International Pipe Freeze Services to provide them with a dependable pipe freeze plug on a 8.0" steel chill water pipe. However during the project evaluation process it was determined that the 8.0" pipe did not have enough length to establish a dependable and safe freeze plug. For this and other special applications where a freeze plug cannot be safely established we have the capabilities to perform mechanical line stops. Please see the linked pictures.
